Science report Space exploration is the ongoing discovery and exploration of celestial structures in outer space by means of continuously evolving and growing space technology. For about 6 decades space exploration has helped improve aspect and qualities of life on earth by channelling missions and discoveries that have lead to producing and advancing societal benefits. The first satellite launched, Sputnik I, was designed by the Soviet Union to testify the initial capability of and in the earth’s orbit and to investigate more about earth’s environment, however, the critical knowledge and capabilities contributed from the first series (of satellites) have helped develop satellite telecommunications, global positioning, and advances in weather forecasting. And while Sputnik I’s launch was one single event, it marked the beginning of a space age and the first ever well know space race. Wistfully it has come to a lot of communities attention that space stations including NASA have been receiving less support over the years from citizens and more budget cuts, the latest being $561m budget cut made by President Trump from NASA, and while a lot of citizens and the president have mentioned that budget isn’t going to affect NASA’s 2018 prosperities, multi space communities and organisations have spoken to say that with the budget cuts NASA will have to consider ending some space missions. In fact statistics have shown that back when the space race between US and USSR was taking place people showed more interest in supporting space exploration, however when it was over people were more concerned about spending their money and giving their attention to other causes and organisations, therefore NASA had less money to spend on developing their research. So I asked myself why is it important to support and fund space exploration foundations and how does it affect us socially, environmentally, technologically and scientifically?  We should fully support space exploration because socially, it has impacted us in countless ways, both being direct and indirect. Directly space exploration has helped inspire millions of youth to dream big by consistently achieving the impossible every year, by giving the youth a chance to communicate with the international space station using the Amature Radio on the International Space Station or ARISS, and by providing these youth with advanced education to space technology, in the hope that these youths will aspire to later on become something or someone useful in the science and space exploration field. Space exploration obviously has created various jobs that have enhanced the productivity and capacity of work in space by advanced the level of technology development and national security through forging agreements and  strengthening relationships with and between numerous countries engaged in space exploration.  Simply stated, space exploration is uniquely positioned to facilitate international associations on peaceful uses in ways the military cannot. Indirect benefits of space exploration include tangible enhancements to the aspects and quality of life such as improvements in health, all around the world drinkable water is vital for human survival, yet, unfortunately millions of people around the world lack access to clean water. Using the technology developed in space stations, jeopardized areas now have gained access to advanced water purification and filtration systems, forming a life-saving difference in such communities. Two years ago a tiny kurdish village in Iraq called Kendala had suffered from deep-water well failure which left it’s population of 1,000 residents without access to clean/ drinkable water. Kendala’s population quickly declined to a mere 150. Those remaining alive were forced by the government to use a nearby creek that contained water contaminated by livestock raised around the area, which they had have to sift through fabric to remove the dirt. Their story soon was heard by NASA who then agreed to send volunteers help install and test a water purification system in Kendala, improving there life in an undefined way.As mentioned already Sputnik l the first satellite ever to be launched and was designed for the purpose of testifying the initial capabilities of our earth’s orbit. From then on about 6,000 more satellites have been launch, an estimate 3,600 of those satellites still have remained in orbit, yet, only 1,000 are of use and operational , the rest are supposedly space debris. The satellite development(s) nowadays have greatly aided our lives on earth from these used for transmitting TV and telephone signals, military and civilian observation satellites, communications satellites, weather forecast satellites, to those that have not only given us a closer look at our planet and its remarkable features but also how to take the best care of it. Over the years satellites have given us the chance to study earth’s oceans, ice sheets, the atmosphere, weather, clouds, rainforests, deserts, cities and just about anything and everything else on the planet. Obtaining the information restored by satellites grasp an understanding of our own impact on earth’s dainity, fragile state. Having multiple satellites tracking the weather has recently come in handy, by keeping a close eye on dangerous weather systems such as Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, giving the people in these areas enough time to prepare and even evacuate in some cases. Space flight is associated with psychological, emotional, and physiological stress which can result in decreased immunity that revives some viruses that associate and cause shingles, disease punctuated by painful skin laceration . Space flight is also known for altering the human’s innate immune system,also known as the in-born immune system which contains mechanisms and cells that act as an early line of defence against infectious agents. And while an astronaut most likely will not experience a severe infectious disease during a short duration- space flight, NASA scientist are concerned about the function of the immune system over exploring missions that will require long stays in space.According to CDC, in the US approximately one million shingles cases occur yearly. About one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand of these cases develop into an exceptionally painful and sometimes attenuating condition commonly known as post-herpetic neuralgia, which can last anywhere between months to years. After having to spend years, and years of research NASA finally developed technology that can detect the harmless changes in astronauts and people on earth early enough to begin and prepare a treatment before any agonizing skin lesions appear, the early treatment and detection will furthermore reduce the span of the disease and the occurrence of long- term consequences.Environmentally space exploration associations have  done a lot of researches in order to improve the environment on earth, after at their core they are all scientific organisations. About a decade ago, when the world first started focusing on the earth’s atmosphere state it was less about greenhouse gases and more about the health of the land and those who live on it. Air pollution in the form such as  mercury,sulfur dioxide, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and particulate unrefined matter has long-term effects on farmland,crops human beings, and sea life. It is believed that one of NASA most prosperous and long standing areas of research concludes in observational technology, and as it appears, these advanced technological observation systems have unlocked a new dimension of understanding and tracking the air quality on earth. The HSRL (High Spectral Resolution Lidar), is a lidar device, that can also be referred to as a radar, however instead of radio waves it uses laser beams. Scientist have mounted this NASA instrument on items such as a small aircraft to measure particles in air (aerosoles). A couple of years ago, studies showed that NASA had teamed up with the EPA to testify and measure the smoke aerosols given off during a wildfire in Myrtle Beach, S.C. it was noted that as soon as the fire had started scientists boarded on a plane and begun measuring the aerosoles that were clounding in the air. The data gathered using NASA’s HSRL technology was latter on analized to help the EPA gain a better understanding of how such wildfires have affected air quality.In conclusion I believe that we should fully support and fund space exploration foundations for the reasons and impacts stated above. Over the years statistics have shown and mentioned that space organizations have simply and practically inspired millions of lives and furthermore, have saved a million others and that I couldn’t  agree less with. Once again I simply must state that space exploration is uniquely positioned to facilitate international associations on peaceful uses in ways the military cannot.
