The era of poetry we are doing is called Modernism. Modernism is early modern european history that was usually span from the start of the 15th century. Through the age of reason and the age of enlightenment. There were Modernist founders, the Dutch author Menno Ter Braak and other Modernists continued to be created in the 1920’s and 1930’s, including novels by marcel prequestor, Virginia woolf, Robert Musli, and Dorothy Richardson. However, Modern and Modernism is not the same. Modern is different from modernism poetry because, throughout the 1890’s poetry in america continued, on the whole, to follow the norms and premises of the Romantic and Victorian traditions. The known and respected american poets of the decade obviously lacked talent of the first order. Thus, the first generation of modernists poets in a america had the special advantage in their own national context that were coming into a scene of traditional poetry that was also weak, a circumstance which helps account for the boldness, elan, and rapid spread of the Modernist movement. England on the other hand had a strong, rebellious avant -garde ¬†poetry in the 1890’s. Modernism, is a movement in literature, painting, music, and other arts that was swept along by disillusionment with traditions that seems to have become spiritually empty, like the American dream. It also marked a radical break in european culture to produce. It rejected the aesthetic values of the 19th century forbears, 20th century modernists avant garde sought to set europe civilization upon a new path. Modernism was also a cultural movement that strove to achieve new consciousness about the experiences of modernity ¬†through new forms of artistic expression. However, modernism began in english because, writing style, was created by the modernist interest. It attempted to subconscious mind and human psyche. Sigmund Freud changed how we understood our unconscious minds. Marxism embraced socialism as the desired social structure, conflicts with the american system of capitalism and free enterprise. Some elements of modernism emphasis on bold experimentation in style and form, reflecting the fragmentation of Society Rejection of traditional Themes, subjects, and forms. Interest in the inner workings, of the human mind, sometimes expressed through a narrative techniques, such as a stream of consciousness Revolt against the spiritual debasement of the modern world.
